BIPA settlement for Magisto App users

Magisto BIPA Settlement Brief – About magistobipasettlement.com

Posted on by

There is a class action investigation going on with Vimeo’s Magisto App regarding BIPA violations at magistobipasettlement.com. There are reported violations of the Biometric Information Privacy Act also known as “BIPA”. Without user consent, the Magisto app uses and retains biometric information of Illinois residents.

Consent is required according to Illinois BIPA that certain disclosures be made for apps that store biometric facial scans. It also must disclose that it’s collecting and what will be down with such sensitive information. What’s happening according to plantiff’s is a clear violation of privacy for those uninformed Illinois users.

If you are a resident of Illinois and been using the app, see how this Magisto BIPA settlement affects you.
