What is the Subaru Battery Class Action Case About?
According to reports, the same or a similar battery replacement did not resolve the problem. Initially, 13 plaintiffs from various parts of the country filed a lawsuit against Subaru for their battery problems, which was ultimately resolved through the Subaru battery drain class action settlement.
The lawsuit against Subaru alleges that the company violated consumer laws and warranties related to the purchase or lease of their vehicles. The plaintiffs are seeking to form a nationwide class action on behalf of both current and former owners and lessees of Subaru vehicles.
However, Subaru has vehemently denied any wrongdoing and maintains that their vehicles were functioning correctly and were properly designed, manufactured, distributed, advertised, and sold.
Moreover, the defendants refuted any breach of laws, guarantees, or other regulations. In cases where it was needed, Subaru maintained that they provided warranty protection.
That said, Subaru has consented to a settlement for a class action in order to settle these accusations and prevent prolonged and potentially expensive legal proceedings.

According to the current conditions of the settlement for the Subaru Battery Class Action, you may be eligible for an extended warranty that will provide coverage for any upcoming battery malfunctions, both present and future. The following are the different benefits offered for past or future failures of Subaru batteries in qualifying vehicles:
In the event of a battery failure in the future, this extended warranty will fully cover the cost of the initial battery replacement for vehicles that are either five years old or less, or have a total mileage of under 60,000 miles.
For older vehicles or those with higher mileage, the first Subaru battery replacement will be half covered for the total replacement expense.
The extended warranty will cover the following for any future replacements:
• If the Subaru is 5 years old or less, or has less than 60,000 miles, 100% of the cost will be covered.
• For a Subaru that is 7 years old or less, or has less than 84,000 miles, 80% of the cost will be covered.
• If the Subaru is 8 years old or less, or has an odometer reading of 100,000 miles or less, 60% of the cost will be covered.
If your car does not have any aftermarket components that impact the Subaru’s electrical system, you will receive a cash reimbursement as a component of the class action settlement.
This reimbursement will cover the expenses associated with previous battery replacements. That or any related costs, such as battery testing, that were paid for out of pocket.
